FLM's SPV1 & SPV2 Rock Crawler Chassis
Designed by StampedeProject & made by FLM (Fast
Lane Machine)
Need
a Axial AX10 Scorpion, Wheelie King, Berg or Clod 2.2 class rock crawler
chassis that looks as awesome as it performs? This is a little something
I designed and licensed to FLM - Fast Lane Machine and it even competed
in the 2008 Crawler Nationals. A bodiless design that gives you one of
the most adjustable chassis available in about 5oz total, and provides
you with extra snag free clearance... and you thought all I could do was
write. ;)

RX8 - Reliable 6S Big 1/8th Scale Brushless Power is finally arrived
You
probably all know I am one of the big brushless freaks in the RC
industry and a Beta Tester for many manufacturer's systems including
Tekin, Castle, NeuMotor, Hacker, Medusa Products, and a few others.
To say I have been working with Jim Campbell at Tekin or a Beta tester
in this case developing the RX8 would be incorrect, however I was one of
the people who did spend many many hours on the phone and trading
a multitude of emails with Jim discussing what worked and what didn't
while they developed the RX8.

SPV2 Hard Case
Custom Hard Tail Crawler
By
Tony Arnold - StampedeProject.com
Yet
another "what the hell can I build with crap I have laying around
project". After many years, I have seemed to amassed a huge
pile of parts that could make some very cool RC's with a little
creativity and effort.
In
this case I scrounged around the corners of my basement and garage and
ended up with enough parts to net a $0 cost build and something truly
unique and in this case a Hard Tail crawler. I really haven't seen
many hard tail crawlers out there... in fact I don't recall seeing any.

Tekin FX-R 55T Crawler Combo
System Review
Jim Campbell has promised and delivered big things from the new Tekin, but
more importantly he listens to customers for new ideas.
Crawlers have been loudly raving over Tekin's new FX-R ESC.
All Tekin needed was a great 55T motor and wa-la the Tekin FX-R
Crawler Combo was created.

The
Ultimate 4S Mamba Max Powered FLM Stampede
What does StampedeProject.com consider the ultimate Stampede? The FLM
Stampede of course. Here is the 4S beast built for an RC Car
article.
Project
Mega Green - A Losi Mega Baja/LST2 brushless conversion
Big bad and brushless. One of the more difficult brushless
conversions to date, but a whole bunch of fun to bash with. A Hacker,
MaxAmps and Castle powered beast.

The Trebuchet Project - Yes, Occasionally I get really creative and this
is the masterful result thanks to an easy-to-use Lincoln Electric 140C

Lincoln Electric Tuber
One Lincoln Electric project wasn't enough so I embarked on fabricating
hand made welded steel chassis. 3S Tekin brushless powered.

Exclusive Tekin Interview with Jim Campbell
Long
ago, two companies introduced the world of RC to leading edge ESCs, one of
those companies was Tekin (pronounced Tee-Kin). Tekin's ESCs
dominated racetracks and were so good that many still see use today.
Despite the loyal fans that revered Tekin's... Read

Tamiya
Durga DB01 - 1/10th Scale 4WD Buggy
In
the Hindu religion, “Durga” is the beautiful ten-armed demon
fighting goddess. In Tamiya-land, the Durga is a TRF501X inspired, belt
driven, four armed, 1/10th scale, buggy with centralized mass
engineering and a slippery look, that can put the hurt on evil
challengers everywhere. For
those that are new to 4WD 10/th scale kits, think of a smaller, more
nimble, faster, electric 8th scale buggy and you have the
right idea.

Stampede Project Franken-Crawler
What Eventually Became the Fast Lane Machine
SPV2 Chassis - September 7th 2008
It all started when I heard of Losi's mini-crawler several months back.
I though a mini-scale crawler would be cool, but how about a true 1/12th
scale... durable and easily built based via Wheelie King parts, a
Traxxas Stampede tranny and whatever else I had laying around.

Castle Sidewinder
WooooHoooo a $150 Brushless ESC and Motor System
No fancy CastleLink
interface built in, just old school style programming with limited
configurations. Yes you can add a external Castle Link
interface, but this inexpensive ESC comes without a USB interface and
isn't build to take the voltage of the Mamba Max. Not as smooth as
the Mamba Max, but great for the price. Review out in the June 2008
Issue of RC Car and I don't pull any punches.

Yeah I know, nitro sucks, but we
still all keep a couple flame throwers around just to annoy the
neighbors. ;)
Spreading the RC
Love
The other day I was asked by one of manufacturer partners what was the
most rewarding project I had done in the last year. For me, is was
getting a call from a friend that wanted some suggestions for his son's
first RC. I pulled a tweaked RTR Traxxas Rustler together from
spare parts and topped it with a lightly used body. His son has thanked
me three times so far and my friend has yet another opportunity to spend
quality time with his son. The upside for me was freeing up a
little extra space for me ever growing collection of RCs. The more people we have in the hobby
the better. Have an old RC that a friend, family member can enjoy?
Get it back into running order and spread the RC love.
My RC
Racing Buddy - MO
He has been clocked at over 35 MPH and he turns on a dime and as you can
see he works
cheap.
We usually draw quite the crowd and he has a blast.
Good thing he thinks my RC's are siblings and not a chew toys. See
him is some of the videos and recently in RC Car Magazine's Dyeing to
Look Cool Article as my helper.
The Traxxas Revo NTB (Nitro to Brushless) Dual
Conversion
as featured in RC Car Magazine
Long ago in a land far away, before brushless E-Revos,
the editor of RC Car Magazine and
Traxxas both put a lot of trust in me on this massive and expensive 80
hour project which took a fresh from the box 3.3R Revo and did both a
direct conversion using the stock Revo tranny and a more typical but
tweaked E-maxx tranny conversion - the results were amazing. Lots of
custom hand made parts...and fun in the snow with a little winterizing.

The
Stampede Project Ultra-Pede
What happens when modifications to a Traxxas Stampede get a little
out of hand?
The Stampede re-started my hole RC adventure
again for me after almost a twenty year hiatus and then I end up at this
point with over 40 RCs and counting - they should call the Stampede the
Gateway Drug for RC. The advancements
since I was a kid are incredible and they was just the beginning.
See the full
Ultra-Pede build here and all the crazy projects disbursed through
out the site.
Part Due (Rustler-Project - AKA
Ultra-Rusty)
Soooo... once the Stampede Project Ultra-Pede was
complete (more or less), I was in need of another challenge. What do I have planned for the
Rustler-Project?
High durability with an emphasis on weight reduction and SPEED!!!!...
See the Project
Stampede
Ultra-Rusty
Part Tre' (Tri-Pede)
Now that just about perfect isn't it, part three, the
Tri-Pede - couldn't have planned it better. This is the part where
everyone goes, "seriously I think you have a problem now". My wife's
quote was that I "should really use my powers for good rather than evil"
and further mumbled something about people are starving and you are
creating a Tri-Pede. My take is that if I can get this to perform, I can scare the
hell out of everyone at the track - [insert evil laugh].
The Innovation of the Tri-Pede -
7/4/06
This was an accidental project that was spawned while sitting amongst mounds of
parts at my project table all while working on the
Ultra-Rusty.
See this wacky Tri-Pede project come to life.
Eventually the
hobby affects other areas of your life
No it's not
brushless, but I still wonder what it would due with a 7HP NeuMotor 1527
and 8S. For now anyway it makes some of the best "from scratch
pizza dough" on the planet.
